Malcom "Mac" Hobbs, 74, Salem, Ark., son of Maurice and Lillian Bell Rose Hobbs, was born Oct. 14, 1930, at Lyndon, Kan. He died Nov. 17, 2004, at Salem, Ark.
He spent his working years as a husband, father, grandfather and retired from the United States Navy as hospital corpsman. He served in the United Sates Navy for 20 years, serving in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
Survivors include three daughters -- Kathy Temple of Crescent City, Calif.; Sharon Hobbs, and Lorna Sanders; Two brothers -- Richard Hobbs of Burney, Calif.; and Gerald Hobbs of Ash Flat, two sisters -- Lillian Heilman of Osage City, Kan, and Correne Bowman of Topeka, Kan.; special friend, Agnes Nilson of Salem, Ark., and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Hobbs; a sister Patricia Ann Yockey; and a brother, Leonard Hobbs.
A memorial service was Nov. 19 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Bro. Warren Newman officiating. Memorials are preferred to the VFW Post 9777 in Salem, Ark.
