Helen Freeman Foster, 88, daughter of the late Joseph Benton and Minnie Jane Parrot Dial, was born June 21, 1914, in Heber Springs, Ark. She died Feb. 10, 2003 in Mountain Home, Ark.
She was united in marriage to Alfred Herman Freeman and to this union a daughter was born.
Helen spent her life as a wife, mother, and homemaker. During her working years, she was a seamstress and worked in a upholstery shop and a restaurant.
Later, after the death of her husband, Alfred Freeman, she was married to Arthur Foster.
She was a member of Jacksonville Missionary Baptist Church, and a member of the Heber Springs Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Gardner of Franklin; a sister, Geneva Caldwell of Santa Barbara, Calif.; three grandchildren -- Diedre Foster, Thomas Morse and Mary Openlander; six great-grandchildren -- Sarah Wygant, Drew Foster, Connie Openlander, Camryn Openlan-der, Madeline Niestat, Benja-min Niestat; and two great-great-grandchildren -- Joseph Bewig and Abigail Bewig.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and a brother Ernest Dial.
A graveside funeral was Feb. 13 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
