Taylor interested in MS superintendent position

MAMMOTH SPRING -- At the Jan. 30 Mammoth Spring School Board meeting, school board president Mark Taylor announced that the purpose of the meeting was to review applications submitted for the superintendent's position. It was decided that Feb. 3 would be the date set to interview the applicant.

All school board members were present Feb. 3 when Ron Taylor introduced himself as the applicant for the superintendent's position and the interview process began. No action was taken on the hiring of Taylor.

The board also discussed the renewal policy for the school leaders errors and omissions liability policy. Two options of coverage were available to select from. A motion was made by Remona Combs and seconded by Ronnie Brown to accept Option 1 priced at $3,646.24 The motion passed by unanimous vote.

Superintendent Case mentioned that the district had the opportunity to purchase a used scissor lift for the maintenance department. He explained that two used lifts were available for $2,000 and $2,250. School board members voted to purchase the $2,250 lift.

Board members voted to approve Kimberly Davis' and Sheila Davis' names to the substitute teachers list at the school.

Music instructor Tommy Massey asked for board approval for a senior band trip this spring and approval was granted.

It was at the Jan. 13 school board meeting that school board members accepted the resignation of superintendent Houston Case.
