Harless Odell Reeves, 81, of Salem son of Charlie Washington and Hester Elva Grissim Reeves, was born July 27, 1923, in Morriston, Ark. He died Jan. 13, 2005, at his residence in Salem.
He married Dorlene Bell Sept. 1, 1945, at Batesville. To this union three children were born. He was self employed as a carpenter and a farmer. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II, serving in Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge and earning five major battle stars. He was a member of Salem Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of the family home; three children - Jimmy (Donna) Reeves of Cherokee Village, Brenda Reeves Carl of Salem, and Mark (Karen) Reeves of Salem; a sister Opal Gleghorn of Wiseman; six grandchildren - Sherry (Tom) Simone, Carol (Doug) Tracy, James Reeves, Tyler Harless Carl, Leah (Travis) Thompson and Robin Reeves; and four great-grandchildren - Hannah and Morgan Tracy, Allison Simone and Emory Reeves.
He was preceded in death by two sisters - Audie Howard and Goldie Hatman; and his father and mother.
The funeral was Jan. 16, at Cox-Blevins Chapel with burial in Morriston Cemetery under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
