TROOP G -- Officers with Troop G of the Missouri Highway Patrol have released accident totals for the Troop G area during 2002. According to Caption B.E. Chadwick, commanding officer, 1,837 accidents were investigated during 2002, resulting in 49 fatalities and 1,674 people injured.
During the same period in 2001, Chadwick reported 1,626 accidents investigated by Troop G officers, 45 people killed as a result of those accidents and 1,054 injuries.
During December 2002 Troop G officers investigated 197 accidents, captain Chadwick said four people were killed in those accidents and 107 people reported injuries.
Howell County was the high accident county during the month of December reporting 50 accidents investigated, two deaths and 25 injuries.
During December 2002, Oregon County reported 20 accidents, no fatalities and 10 people receiving injuries as a result of those accidents.
Other Troop G counties reported the following accident information. Carter, 14 accidents, nine injuries; Douglas, 18 accidents, 11 injuries; Ozark, 11 accidents, five injuries; Reynolds, 15 accidents, one fatality and nine injuries; Shannon, 17 accidents, 15 injuries; Texas, 31 accidents, 17 injuries; Wright, 21 accidents, one fatality, six injuries.
