After a search was conducted on land, in water and by air the body of a physician from Rogers was recovered June 19 in the White River.
Dr. Jerry Hitt's body was found by a fisherman at approximately 10:30 a.m. about four miles downstream from the Calico Rock bridge crossing the river.
According to the press release, the fisherman called Stone County Sheriff's Bill Jason who reported the finding to the Izard County coroner.
Hitt, 56, reportedly fell out of his jon boat while on a fishing trip.
The recovery was made approximately seven miles from where Hitt was last seen June 14.
Hitt's body was transported to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner's Office in Little Rock.
