Signatures needed for Wideman Water Project

Thursday, January 23, 2003

The 2002 budget was approved by the Calico Rock City Council Jan. 1

Izard County Judge Eddie Cooper administered the oath of office to all councilmen present.

Mayor Ronnie Guthrie gave an update on the Wideman Water Project. Guthrie said around 95 residents still needed to sign up before certain phases of the project could continue. The well site has to be moved because there is no three phase power in the original site area.

Under committee reports the fire chief provided a printout of all incidents responded to for the year 2002. Sheriff Joe Martz reported the new vehicle the council approved was in but needed to be paid. Martz reported that construction for the new jail was progressing on schedule.

LaNelle Hamby presented some printed material for the number of prospects, items the IDC was responsible for getting, hours, salary, and history for the IDC committee.

Hamby gave the annual report of IDC for the year 2002 and the chamber budget report.

Dean Hudson, president of IDC, gave a summation of the IDC office activities. It was a mutual agreement that IDC would attend quarterly meetings and provide a report.
