Show-Me-State Games slated

Thursday, January 23, 2003

The Show-Me State Games is gearing up for the Third Annual Youth 5-on-5 Basketball Tournament Feb. 21-23.

The tournament will take place on the University of Missouri-Columbia campus at the Student Recreation Center and various other locations around Columbia, and will include both recreational and competitive divisions.

The tournament is open to both boys and girls teams in the 4th, 5th and 6th grades, and trophies and medals will be awarded to the top teams in their age group. A roster of up to 12 players can enter the tournament for a team fee of $150, which will give the team a four-game guarantee.

Over 125 teams competed in this tournament last year, and the Show-Me State Games expects even more this year. Entry forms can be obtained by calling the Show-Me State Games office at (573) 882-2101 or teams may enter online at www.smsg.org. Entries must be postmarked by Feb. 1 to be included in the tournament.
