THAYER -- Four teen-agers were injured Sunday night in a one-vehicle accident east of Thayer.
According to a report from Troop G of the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident ocurred at 9:35 p.m. Jan 26 on County Road 269 one-half mile southeast of Thayer.
Trooper Clint Howell reported that a 1991 Pontiac driven by Rickey Gibson, 16, of Thayer ran off the road, overturned and landed on its top, injuring the driver seriously and three teenage passengers in the car. Gibson was taken to Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) in West Plains.
Also injured in the accident was Gibson's younger brother, Bradley Gibson, 14, also of Thayer. The younger Gibson received moderate injuries in the accident and was taken to OMC in West Plains.
A cousin to the Gibson brothers, Kevin Gibson, 12, of Thayer was a passenger in the vehicle. He received moderate injuries and was taken to OMC . Tina Baldridge, 14, of Mammoth Spring was also a passenger in the Gibson car. She was seriously hurt in the accident and was also taken to OMC.
Trooper Howell reported that all three males in the vehicle were ejected from the vehicle and that the driver and all three passengers were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
