Mammoth Spring SB hires special aide

MAMMOTH SPRING -- Mammoth Spring Elementary Principal Ruth Stevens was at the most recent Mammoth Spring School Board meeting and explained that an aide needed to be employed by the school district for a new student who needs special services.

Superintendent Houston Case recommended Karen Loftis for the position of personal care aide at the school for a period of 113 days retroactive Dec. 2, 2002. Case suggested a contract for Loftis contingent upon a criminal background check and the continuing need for her services at Mammoth Spring School.

School board members voted unanimously to extend the contract to Loftis.

In other Mammoth Spring School Board action, Superintendent Case also explained that an addendum needed to be made to Novella Humphrey's contract for teaching mentoring for 2002-03 retroactive to the~beginning of the 2002-03 term with salary set for $600 per semester or $1,200 yearly.

Mammoth Spring School Board members voted unanimously to extend the addendum as recommended by the superintendent.

The following substitute teachers were submitted for the 2002-03 term. Those added to the substitute teachers list include: Sidney Taylor, Brett Green and Charity Smith.

The school board report stated all names submitted to the substitute teachers list at Mammoth Spring School were approved by the school board members.
