Johnnie Andrew "John Pat" Pendergrass, 74, of Glencoe, son of the late Ernest and Alice Pearl McConnell Pendergrass, was born Oct. 16, 1928, in Myron. He departed this life Feb. 1, 2003, at his home in Glencoe. John Pat was married to Alice Mae Stroud on July 31, 1948, at Myron, and to this union two children were born. He was self-employed as a farmer and was retired from the Arkansas Highway Depart-ment. He was a member of the Living Word Tabernacle.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Burdetta Pendergrass of Glencoe; his daughter, Dyann Everett of Glencoe; three grandchildren -- Heath and Rani Everett of Salem, Kelsey Pendergrass of Glencoe and Kendra Pendergrass of Glencoe; two great-grandchildren -- Jordan and Clayton Everett of Salem; one sister, Geneva Zeits of Olympia, Wash.; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Pendergrass; and his father and mother.
Services were Feb. 3 at Cox-Blevins Chapel with Bill Barnett officiating. Burial followed at Agnos Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
Pallbearers were Jim Mills, Kenny Crawford, Willie McCord, John Tucker, Tommy Caudel and Tom Romine.
Honorary pallbearers were Caroll Benton, Ford Benton, Weldom Zeigler and Frank Oliver.
