Alice Renner Hoops, 76, of Cherokee Village died Jan. 26, 2003, at her home. Born Dec. 1, 1926, in West Allis, Wis., she was the daughter of John and Wilhelmina Renner. She was a member of Ash Flat Church of Christ and Highland VFW 4772 Auxiliary. She was a member of the Cherokee Village Women's 9-Hole Golf Association and Cherokee Village Craft and Hobby Club. Prior to her move to Cherokee Village she was a professional ceramic painter in Texas. She enjoyed camping and various activities.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer Hoops; three daughters -- Donna Mae Matoh of Nashotah, Wis., Becky Jean Byron of Panama City, Fla., and Connie Marie Jacobs of Pewaukee, Wis.; five granddaughters; a grandson, a great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Marcilla Carroll of Mesa, Ariz., and Charlotte Miller of Orlando, Fla.
A memorial service was Jan. 30 at Ash Flat Church of Christ with Keith Gregson officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland, Ark. The family requests that any memorials be donated to the ALS Association at 27001 Agoura Rd., Suite 150, Calabasas Hills, CA 91301-5104.
