Chris Wayne Clemens, 70, of Cherokee Village died Jan. 28, 2003 at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center. He was born Dec. 13, 1932, in Bangor, Iowa, and was a maintenance welder for the John Deere Company.
He was an active member of Cherokee Village Lions Club. He and his wife Deonne moved to Cherokee Village in 1992 from Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Deonne Clemens of the home whom he married Feb. 14, 1960; one son, Craig Wayne (Judy) Clemens of Ferris, Texas; two daughters -- Corrine Kay (Steven) Brown of Paducah, Ky., and Cynthia Marie Clemens of Boulder, Colo.; two brothers -- Wallace Clemens of Boulder and Gene Clemens of Indiana; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Edna Matney Clemens; one brother and two sisters.
Memorial services were Jan. 31 at Cherokee Village Lutheran Church with arrangements under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
