OREGON COUNTY -- The Women's, Infants, Children's (WIC) 2004 fiscal year contract has been signed. According to Oregon County WIC coordinator Sharon Wrenfrow, the program provides supplemental foods, formula, referrals and nutrition education to women and children in the county. She said this year the county WIC program will be able to serve 7,800 participants.

Wrenfrow said to qualify for the program a resident must be pregnant, breast-feeding, a postpartum woman, or have an infant or child under the age of five.

She said an example of the income guidelines for a family of four would be $655 weekly; $2,837 monthly; or $34,040 annually.
