Charles Albert Russell, 90, of Cherokee Village passed away Jan. 11, 2003, at the Eastern Ozarks Regional Health System in Cherokee Village. He was born May 22, 1912, in Ironton, Ohio, the son of Buckley Benton and LuSima Townsend Russell whom with a son, Donald R. Russell, and three brothers preceded him in death.
He retired from TRW Air Craft as a tool grinder and also retired from Imperial '400' Motels, Inc. as manager. He was active in the Spring River Sportsman's Club, Cherokee Village Golf Club, POA Service Committee, Neighborhood Watch, Spring River Gem & Mineral Club, Santa Fe Club former member of the Kiwanis Club and Cherokee Village Lions Club. He was also a member of the Cherokee Village First Baptist Church. Mr. and Mrs. Russell moved to Cherokee Village 35 years ago from Eastlake, Ohio, and formerly lived in Ironton and Cleveland, Ohio, as well as Willcox, Ariz.
Survivors are his wife, Mary E. Stover Russell of the home, whom he married on Nov. 18, 1950 in Chagrin Falls, Ohio; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 14 at the Cherokee Village First Baptist Church with Rev. Larry White and Rev. Robin Allen officiating. Burial was Jan. 16 in the Woodland Cemetery in Ironton, Ohio, with local arrangements under the direction of Tri-County's Funeral Home of Highland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cherokee Village First Baptist Church Building Fund.
