Earl Franklin Mayes, 74, of Cave City, died May 24, 2004, at Cave City Nursing Home in Cave City; Born March 10, 1930, at Tansboro, N.J., he was the son of James Franklin and Emma Hutton Mayes.
He was retired from the U.S. Air Force as a tech sgt., having served 26 years. He was a retired electrician, a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion.
Survivors include two sons -- Jimmy Mayes and Kevin Mayes, both of Cave City; three daughters -- Pam Conley of Cave City, Tina Attig of Southside, and Linda Healey of Florida; two sisters -- Joyce Barkoff of Cave City and Lorraine Villari of Evening Shade; many grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Pearl Mayes.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. No visitation is planned.
