Thurman Jessie Wrenfrow, 69, was born Nov. 28, 1935, in Myrtle, Mo., the son of the late John W. Wrenfrow and Samantha May Garrison Wrenfrow in Myrtle, Mo.,

He died Dec. 8, 2004, in Couch, Mo. He was united in marriage Dec. 24, 1955, in Myrtle, Mo., to Betty Brewer.

He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Warn.

He retired from General Motors in St. Louis, Mo., where he worked on the assembly line. He was past commander of the Disabled American Veterans and was a member of the United Auto Workers Union.

After retiring he moved back to the Couch area where he enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and playing music. He was a member of the Missouri Grandpa's Band.

He enjoyed performing country music for the people of Oregon County and surrounding counties.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, brother and uncle. His grandchildren -- Logan and Kelsey, were his pride and joy. He loved sharing stores of their antics and accomplishments. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy at Center Point and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Betty of the home in Couch, Mo.; a daughter, Jeanette Dethrow and husband, Mark of Mountain Grove, Mo.; two grandchildren -- Logan and Kelsey Dethrow of Mountain Grove; a brother, Clifford Wrenfrow and wife, Emma of Thayer, Mo.; three sisters-in-law -- Brenda Brewer of Thayer, Mayme Wrenfrow of Thayer and Ruby Wrenfrow of Kansas City, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers -- Willis Hanford and Buford Wrenfrow and a sister, Samantha Gereva Reckelhoff.

Funeral services were held Dec. 11, 2004, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Roger Smith and Melvin Snethern officiating. Burial was in Cotton Creek Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer.
