Clara May Chadwick, 86, of Thayer, formerly of Cherokee Village, passed away Nov. 28, 2004, at Shady Oaks Healthcare Center in Thayer.
She was born July 5, 1918, in Witts Springs, Ark., the daughter of Leeander and Gertrude Starbuck Taylor.
She was a foster mother for many years, as well as a homemaker.
She moved to Cherokee Village in 1994 from Avenal, Calif.
She was a member of Cherokee Village First Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Alvin Kenneth Chadwick, of Red Feather Lake, Colo.; two daughters, Wanda White and Evelene Proctor, both of Cherokee Village; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Frank Chadwick; one son, William Leroy Chadwick; five brothers; and three sisters.
The funeral service was held on Dec. 3 at the Coalinga Funeral Home in Coalinga, Calif., with burial in the Coalinga-Huron Cemetery District.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland, Ark.
