Imogene Mattie Stroud

Born 5-13-1920 -- Died 8-22-2003

Imogene Mattie Stroud, of Ash Flat, Ark., daughter of the

late Henry Morris and Willie Hollingsworth Stroud, was

born May 13, 1920, at Wheeling, Ark. She died Aug. 22,

2003, at Ash Flat at the age of 83 years.

She worked as a farm laborer during the fruit harvest.

When she wasn't working, she helped the elderly in her

neighborhood, transporting them to the doctor and

other places they needed transportation to, and also

helped her neighbors with various jobs. She loved

basketball and played during her high school years.

She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Jane Stroud of

Highland, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and four

brothers -- Donald Remmel Stroud, Sewell Stroud,

Russell Stroud and George Stroud.

The funeral was Aug. 25 at Oxford Cemetery at Oxford

with arrangements by Barker Funeral Home of Salem,

Ark.
