Brenda Shields was recently promoted to assistant vice president of lending at Liberty Bank of Arkansas.
Shields, with over six years banking experience, has served as an administrative assistant and loan assistant. She has been employed by the Highland-Hardy Liberty Banking Center since its opening in 2003.
A native of Pocahontas, Shields is a St. Paul High School graduate and attended Ozarka College in Melbourne. She has earned degrees from both the Arkansas Bankers Association lending and commercial lending schools. She also completed the American Institute of Banking financial statement and tax return analysis course and earned a financial services diploma from the Center for Financial Training. Shields has also earned her life and disabilities license from the Arkansas Insurance Depart-ment.
|Active in the Highland-Hardy community, Shields is a member of the Hardy Timely Club and a Fountain Place Volunteer. She has been a board member of the Spring River Area Chamber of Commerce, charter member of Main Street Hardy, and Highland PTA Secretary. She is a past member of Cherokee Village Kiwanis and Spring River Business and Professional Women where she was elected Young Careerist in 1996.|
Shields is past chairman of Spring River Circle of Friends and volunteer for the Sharp County Cancer Society.
Shields' husband, John W. Shields Sr., is a software support technician employed by Ultima Software Corporation. They have a son, John W. Shields Jr. of Jonesboro, and are active members of Hardy First Baptist Church.
