MoDOT to hold forum in county

Thursday, April 22, 2004

OREGON COUNTY -- A public listening forum hosted by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is coming to Oregon County.

According to MoDOT South Central District engineer Tom Stehn, the forum is set for April 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Oregon County Courthouse at Alton.

Stehn said the purpose of the listening forum is to have MoDOT representatives available to answer transportation related questions and concerns from the residents of Oregon County.

He said this is not a public meeting for any specific project, but a forum for any and all specific transportation issues. "These meetings are part of MoDOT's efforts to get a better understanding of the concerns of the citizens they serve. MoDot's South Central District will be hosting an annual listening forum in each of the 13 counties it serves," Stehn said.

"The meeting will give county residents a chance to tell us what is on their minds and get answers to their important questions. All concerns and problems we hear will be entered into our customer service data base to help us provide a safer and more efficient transportation system," the district engineer said.

The public is invited to report transportation issues, get answers to specific questions, share transportation needs and concerns, obtain information on the state transportation system, order maps and other transportation materials and learn the status of projects.
