Billie "Bill" E. Shelton Sr., 60, Cherokee Village, died April 16, 2004, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born May 17, 1943, of Rector, Ark., the son of Erma Gurthie Shelton and Burl Shelton of Paragould.
Bill is a retired tool maker from Chrysler Coop after 27 years of service, before he and his wife, Rita, moved to Highland, Ark., where they have operated the Timberline Restaurant with their family and friend for the last six years.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Shelton of Cherokee Village whom he married July 6, 1963; two sons -- Billie E. Shelton Jr. of Cherokee Village and Kevin Shelton of Springdale; his parents, Burl and Erma Shelton of Paragould; his father and mother-in-law -- Herman and Wanda Morris of Cherokee Village; four grandchildren -- Heather, Justin, Elizabeth and Kevin Shelton; a brother, Darrell Shelton of Paragould; and a sister, Patricia Graves of Paragould.
The funeral was April 19, 2004 at First Baptist Church of Hardy with Dr. Larry Kindrick officiating. Burial was at Bronaugh Cemetery at Hardy with arrangements by Heath Funeral Home.
