Dorthy Marie Jones, 65, of Harrison, died Dec. 5, 2003, at her home. The daughter of Marvin Earl and Myrtis Thelma Williams Minor, she was born Feb. 24, 1938, in Phoenix, Ariz. She lived in the Harrison area 50 years, moving there from Glencoe. She was a member of Crossroads Community Church of God. She previously worked as a cook for Skyline Heights School. She enjoyed embroidery and making infant quilts.
Survivors include a son, Steven Jones and wife, Patricia, of Harrison; two daughters -- Brenda Ricketts and husband, Nigel, of Joplin, Mo., and Rhonda Harper and husband, Paul, of Harrison; a sister, Lottie Mae Bryant of East Wenatchee, Wash; a brother, Lester Earl Minor of Harrison; seven grandchildren -- Jason and Greg Jones, Stephanie and Daniel Harper, and T.J. Eddings all of Harrison, and Amanda Manes and Nigel Ricketts II both of Joplin, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Jones, in 2001, and her parents.
The funeral was Dec. 8 at Coffman Chapel with Johnny Walters and Tom Lockett officiating. Burial was at Agnos Cemetery with arrangements by Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison, Ark.
Pallbearers were Greg Jones, T.J. Eddings, Dale Minor, Ricky Minor, Dwain Minor and Jeff Minor. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Sam Scroggins, Truman Sisney, Harold Sisney, Kenneth Brasel and Melvin Lovelady.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads Community Church of God.
