Do Reindeer Really Fly?

Thursday, December 18, 2003

It was Christmas Eve. The little boy lay sleeping snugly in his bed when he suddenly woke to the sound of clanking on the roof. As he sprang up to look out his window, he thought, "Could it be?"

Atop the roof he saw an old man slip down the chimney with a big bag in hand. The boy ran down the stairs to see what Santa was bringing from up there.

He reached the bottom and there stood Santa in the corner. Santa had just reached for the glass of milk when he spotted the boy and gave it a tilt sending the milk all over the toys!

With a look of guilt the boy came forward and meekly said, "I'm sorry the milk spilled." Then Santa smiled and with a sweep of his hand everything looked grand! The boy thanked Santa and asked him "Do reindeer really fly?"

Santa said, "Oh, of course! Now I must say goodbye." Then before the boy could blink an eye Santa went up into the night.

The boy raced back up the stairs to watch Santa go, and just as he got there Santa said, "Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas to all!"
