Clyde Leon Smith, 72, of Ozark Acres, died Aug. 19, 2002, at the Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home. He was born Nov. 29, 1929, in Tupelo, Miss., the son of Robert Smith and Mary Lou (Roberts) Smith. He was married to Eleanor Ruth Butler May 21, 1950, in Osceola, Ark. He worked for B & B Plumbing in sales for many years before retiring. The Smiths moved to Sharp County 12 years ago from Austin, Texas. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Memphis, Tenn. He was also a member of the Highland Assembly of God Church in Highland. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.Survivors are his wife, Eleanor Ruth Smith of the home; two sons, Don Leon Smith of Williford, and David Eugene Smith and his wife, Tracie of Williford; two daughters, Barbara and Robert Murphy of Austin, Texas, and Connie and James Hooks of Williford; one sister, Lillie Myers of Memphis; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Michael Lentz; one brother, Charles; and one sister, Bonnie.Services were Aug. 23, at the Highland Assembly of God Church with Rev. Tim Turner officiating. Burial was in the Baker Cemetery at Ozark Acres with arrangements by Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Hardy, Ark.Pallbearers were Charles Wiles, Church Ross, Richard Hennesey, James Hooks Sr., Robert Murphy, James Hooks Jr., Shawn Hooks and Don Smith.
