A Glencoe man lost his truck but not his life after his truck got stuck on railroad tracks near the fish hatchery at Mammoth Spring.
As of press time Tuesday, it was not clear how Junior Lenox's truck got stuck on the tracks as he attempted to cross.
When Lenox, 63, could not get his truck to budge, he ran approximately 1/4 mile to the nearest house to call law enforcement officials to stop the train. Lenox said he heard the train whistle as soon as he reached the house, and he realized there was not enough time to stop the train.
The 1988 Ford was totaled by the impact of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe train.
