Memorial services for Anne Cartwright Richardson, 78, of Koshkonong, Mo., were Feb. 26 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel with Ron Richardson officiating. Burial was in the Baxter Crematory with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
She was born Feb. 23, 1926, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of John F. Kierce and Mildred L. Thatcher Kierce and died Feb. 21, 2005, in West Plains, Mo.
She was married in November of 1945, to Richard Kent Cartwright and to this union four children were born. Mr. Cartwright preceded her in death June of 1992.
She was married Feb. 7, 1981, to Redmond Rodgers Richardson and moved to the Koshkonong area July 26, 1989. He also preceded her in death on March 19, 2001. Her family moved to Oakland, Calif in 1941. After Anne graduated from high school she worked for Western Union, the Army and Navy.
She accepted a temporary one week position for LIUNA, Local 89 which turned into 7-1/2 years employment. She was also employed by San Diego-Imperial Counties Labor Council, AFL-CIO for 17-1/2 years.
She lived in Boulder, Colo, Calexexico, Calif and San Diego, Calif., and after marrying her husband Redmond Richardson, she moved to the home he was born in on July 26, 1989 in Koshkonong.
She was a member of the Christ Unity Church in Lee's Summit, Mo. and was a member of Eastern Star and Office and Professional Employees, Local 138.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include four children -- Rory Kent Cartwright of San Diego, Calif., Richard Sean Cartwright of Union, Mo., Erin Leigh Frealy and husband William of Thayer, Mo., and Kelli Lynn King and husband, Tim, of Koshkonong; four grandchildren -- Laura Borne, Marlene Gorden, Steven Barnes and Kevin Barnes; two step-granddaughters -- Brenda Harp and Darla Orbistondo; a step-grandson, Ronnie Richardson; three great-grandchildren -- Julie and Jennifer Borne, and Charles Kent Gordon; a step-sister, Eunice Barstow of Fremont, Calif.; a cousin, Rocky Piarson of Fremont, Calif., and a nephew, Tom Lowe of Koshkonong.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and a brother, John W. Kierce Dec. 24, 1994.
