Funeral services for Opal Lucille Staton, 93, of Hermitage, Mo., formerly of Thayer were June 11, 2005, at Carter Chapel with Bro. Bill Bales officiating.
She was the daughter of the late Arthur Malone and Florence Jackson Malone, born June 25, 1911, in Thayer. She departed this life June 8, 2005, in Hermitage, Mo., at the age of 93 years.
She was married in Oregon County, Mo., in 1928, to Paul Dunavin. She was united in marriage in Thayer to James Staton who preceded her in death March 7, 1997.
She is survived by one son, L.D. Dunavin and wife, Wilma, of Pittsburg, Mo., one daugher, Barbara Stewart of Louisburg, Mo.; five grandchildren -- Linda Boettger of Omaha, Neb., Beverly Schnack of Omaha, Neb., Jeanette Olson of Kansas City, Kan., Glenda McGill of Kansas City, Kan., and Chris Stewart of Louisburg, Mo.; eight great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two grandchildren, Steve Stewart and Larry Dunavin; and two brothers, Herschel and Earl Malone.
She was devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was of the Baptist faith.
The burial was in the Two Mile Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
