The White River, regarded as one of the nation's finest trout streams, is the scene for a Trout Fest Weekend June 17-19 at Bull Shoals-White River State Park.
A variety of activities and programs about the river and trout fishing are scheduled. These activities are planned with the young, old, experienced and inexperienced fisherperson in mind. Activities include fly fishing seminars, basic trout fishing classes, fly casting techniques and evening programs.
The big finale of the weekend will be the Father's Day Tournament June 19. The tournament registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Bull Shoals-White River State Park Trout Dock the morning of June 19. The fishing time will be from 9 a.m. to noon. There are a variety prizes for many wacky categories that will be awarded at the close of the tournament. A team will consist of an adult and a youth and all fishing regulations apply. There is no registration fee.

Admission is free, except for lake cruises and river cruises. Lake cruises are $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12; river cruises are $8.50 per person.
Bull Shoals-White River State Park is located 14 miles west of Mountain Home on Highway 178 between Lakeview and Bull Shoals.
