(Cora) Marie Reimers Flynn was born Oct. 6, 1918, in Seattle, Wash., the daughter off August and Marie Reimers. She lived in Oklahoma, Illinois, and Arkansas before moving to Springfield, Mo., in 1945. She died Nov. 6, 2003, in her home. She was retired from Lily Tulip and enjoyed life, mostly working outside with farm animals and country neighbors who helped with what she loved to do. She was baptized at High Street Baptist Church, later was a member of Victory Baptist and was currently attending Pythian Avenue and Hamlin Baptist Churches.
Survivors include her niece, Judy Irby and husband, Doyle of Mammoth Spring, a nephew, Wayne Koger and wife, Wyness; two sisters-in-law, Velva Flynn and Emma Flynn of the Fryatt community and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence D. Flynn (who was killed in the battle of Saipan Island during World War II), her parents; a brother, Lewis (Buck); and a sister Annabel Koger Bloom.
Services were Nov. 10 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield with Rev. Fred Lynn officiating. Interment was in National Cemetery in Springfield with arrangements under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home of Springfield.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice.
