Donald Kingsford Jr., 77, of Cherokee Village died Nov. 21, 2003, at Eastern Ozarks Regional Health Systems in Cherokee Village. Born March 3, 1926, in Los Angeles, Calif., he was the son of Donald Kingsford Sr. and Elizabeth Kent Kingsford.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He married Olive Heim June 1, 1976, in Reno, Nev. He retired as the head of the parts department for Alameda County in California. He moved to Cherokee Village eight years ago from Modesto, Calif.
He was a member of Cherokee Village United Methodist Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason and also was a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, the VFW and was a lifetime member of the Native Sons of The Golden West.
Survivors include his wife, Olive of the home; two sons -- Donald H. Kingsford of Arlington, Va., and Shawn Kinsford of Mesa, Ariz.; a daughter, Denise Ellers of Tacoma, Wash.; a step-sister, Barbara Woods, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.
No service is planned at this time. Burial will be in California at a later date. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Masons or to the Shriners Children's Hospital in Sr. Louis, Mo.
