Robert Alan Peterson, 88, of Cherokee Village was born Jan. 24, 1914, son of John Walter Peterson and Louise Behm Peterson in Chicago, Ill. He died June 2, 2002, at the Eastern Ozarks Regional Health Systems, in Cherokee Village.He was a graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill; the national sales manager for Mannington Mills in Salem, N.J., before retiring. He was married to Allegra M. Sullivan on Oct. 18, 1968 in Chicago, Ill. The Petersons moved to Cherokee Village in 1979, from Arlington Heights, Ill. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Sports-man's Club. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Cherokee Village. He also belonged to the Knight's of Columbus of which he was a Faithful Navigator.Survivors include his wife, Allegra M. Peterson of the home; two daughters, Wendy McMannis of Inverness, Ill., and Holly Gaunt of York, Penn.; two step-daughters, Michel Hoffmann of Scandia, Minn., and Candace Thuftedal of Gilbert, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Debbie Gaunt and Gregory Gaunt; three step- grandchildren, Jeffrey Hoff-mann, Christopher Hofman, and Marc Hoffman; and four step-great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Bridgett, Haley, and Kate.Services were June 7, 2002, at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel in Highland. A memorial mass was held June 8, 2002, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Cherokee Village with Father Kevin Atunzu officiating. Burial was in the St. Michael's Columbarium.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church. Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
