Reva Jane Hower, 64, of Alton, Mo., was born Oct. 20, 1940, in Alton, Mo., and died March 9, 2005, at the St. John's Medical Center in Springfield, Mo.
She was an employee at the Alton Bank for over 30 years.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Hower of Alton; two daughters -- Sherrie Johnson of Springfield, Mo., and Angela Rose and husband, Paul, of Mammoth Spring, Ark.; two sons -- James W. Hower of Alton, and Tony Brewer and wife, Penny, of Springfield; one sister, Anna Mae Crass of West Plains, Mo.; a brother, James Herman Strain of Florissant, Mo.; and nine grandchildren -- Mandi Jane Reed, Sheena Jo Johnson, Haley Dawn Johnson, Chad Michael Johnson, Brandon Curtis Rose, Cody Paul Rose, Justin Ryan Brewer, Courtney Renee Brewer and Alexandria Danielle Hower.
Preceding her in death were her parents, William Amos and Vallie L. Heck-Strain; a son, Jeremiah Hower; three brothers -- Hubert, Harold and Herschel Strain; and a sister, Helen Regan.
A graveside service was held on March 13 at Smith Cemetery with Keith Combs officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton.
