Lottie A. Brandt, 77, died March 11, 2005, in West Vue Nursing Center in West Plains.
Born in Goodlet, Texas, Oct. 13, 1927, she was the daughter of Thomas and Sophia Martin Lane. She married Eugene A. Brandt Sept. 18, 1945. She was a Rockford area resident for over 30 years.
She worked as a bookkeeper/secretary for several offices in the Rockford area. Lottie and Gene moved to Missouri in 1976, where she received her real estate license.
She ran for Oregon County Treasurer, sold real estate, and worked as a bookkeeper, secretary and a preparer of income taxes until her retirement. She also assisted in farming in Illinois and ranching in Missouri.
She originally organized the Lane Family reunion that has been meeting over 40 years.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, fishing, reading and perennial flower gardening.
She will be treasured and missed by husband, Gene, of Koshkonong, Mo., and her children -- Sharon (Roger) Kuckkan of Milwaukee, Wis., Karen (Paul) Richardson of Rockford, Ill., Donald Brandt of Boulder, Colo., Barbara Brandt of San Francisco, Calif., and Dale Brandt of Koshkonong, Mo.; her grandchildren -- Joy Castro (James MacDougall) of Crawfordsville, Ind., Michael Dodge (Chris Keller) of Chicago, Ill., Marcus Dodge of Rockford, Lisa Wiedmeyer of San Diego, Calif., Jennifer (Christopher ) Zugel of Kohler, Wis., Jeff Wiedmeyer of Milwaukee, Wis.; and great-grandson, Grey Castro and another expected in May of Jennifer (Dodge) and Chris Zugel.
She is also survived by a sister, Bertie Attebery of Texas; and brothers -- Charles Lane of Loves Park, Ill., Bud (Eulalia) Lane of Oklahoma, and Thomas Lane of Texas.
The funeral service was held March 17 in the Sundberg Funeral Home in Rockford with the Rev. Gregory L. Carlson officiating.
Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with arrangements under the direction of the Sundberg Funeral Home Ltd. of Rockford, Ill.
