Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Manry of Cherokee Village have announced the engagement of their daughter, Heather Regina Manry, to Gerald Walter Ziemba, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thadeow Ziemba of New Hartford, N.Y.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Manry and Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Bartlett.
She graduated from Duke University with a bachelor's degree in political science. She received her juris doctorate from Vanderbilt University School of Law. She is the director of Immigrant Justice Project at Legal Services of Southern Piedmont.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ziemba and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Blake.
He is a graduate of Omeonta State University of New York with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in counseling. He is a guidance counselor in the Charlotte-Meckenburg School system.
The couple will be married July 3 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Charlotte, N.C.
A reception will follow at the Mariott Hotel.
The couple resides in Charlotte.
