Eileen Lynch Gochanour, age 81, of Thayer, Mo., was born March 1, 1923, in Sangamon County, Ill., and died March 27 2004, at her home.
She retired from the State of Illinois Department of Revenue, moved to Thayer in 1995, and continued working on genealogy until her death.
She has compiled and published over 100 genealogical records for Illinois and Kentucky.
She was formerly a member of the First Baptist Church in Decator, Ill. Although she was ministered to by several local pastors the past few years, she knew her home was in heaven with her Lord Jesus Christ.
Survivors include two daughters -- Bonnie Lee Selby Hilbert and Cheryl Ann Scogin and husband, Ralph, all of Thayer, Mo.; four granddaughters -- Sarah Bottarel and husband, Francis, of Springfield, Mo., Bethany Scogin, Kimberly Poulette and husband, Garrett, and Carrie Scogin-Simers and husband, Tim, all of Thayer; seven great-grandchildren -- Carissa Lynne Scogin, Brianna Nicole Wilkerson, Devon Michael Wilkerson, Chandler Isaiah Scogin, Alexis Joy Howard, Garrett Levi Poulette and Hannah Alisa Bottarel; one sister, Mary Frances Carswell of Pawnee, Ill, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Arthur Brown Lynch and Ruby Jewel Mattingly Lynch, her husband Cecil Gochanour and three brothers -- Raymond Stanley Lynch, James Nelson Lynch and Albert Lee Lynch.
Graveside services were March 28 at Riverside Cemetery with Ralph Scogin and Scott Hunnicutt officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home Chapel of Mammoth Spring, Ark.
Cecil Ray Gochanour, son of Charles Marion and Frances Adeline Taylor Gray Gochan-our, was born Oct. 26, 1922, in Chicago Heights, Ill., and died April 1, 2000 in St. Petersburg, Fla., will have his cremains buried with Eileen.
