Teddy Joe Davis, 75, of Ada, Okla., was born Oct. 24, 1929, in Thayer, Mo., the son of Ray-mond E. "Fat" Davis and Verna "Johnnie" Cousins Davis.
He died Aug. 1, 2005, in Ada, Okla.
He was united in marriage on Jan. 31, 1947, in Mammoth Spring, Ark., to Nina Simpson.
He was employed by Frisco-Burlington/Northern Railroad for 35 years as an engineer and train master.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Ada and was of the Baptist faith.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Nina of the home in Ada, Okla.; one daughter, Linda Stacey of Topeka, Kan.; two granddaughters -- Nicole Stacey of Topeka, and Shauna Tindell and husband, Blake of Topeka; three great-grandchildren -- Megan Stacey, Hailey Tindell and Hunter Tindell all of Topeka; one brother, Ronnie Davis and wife, Barbara of Olive Branch, Miss.; a brother-in-law, Kelley Simpson of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Wynona "Curley" Simpson of Couch, Mo.; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Chad Stacey, and his brother, Robert "Bob" Davis.
The funeral service was held Aug. 5 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Bro. Bill Bales officiating. Burial was in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
