Emily A. Andreae, 87, of Hardy, died Aug. 1, 2005, at the Ash Flat Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 25, 1918, in Sharp County near Ravenden to Henry Christian Hirsch and Henretta (Lotz) Hirsch.
She grew up on a farm near Oak Grove #5, a one-room school, and attended Williford School.
She graduated from high school from the School of the Ozarks at Point Lookout, Mo.
Emily was the widow of Millard Andreae from Kansas after 24 years of marriage, but they never had any children.
Emily was a cook for several area restaurants, working the longest at the Sitting Bull Cafe in Cherokee Village.
Emily had to quit working after an auto accident on Ozark Acres Hill in which she suffered a broken neck. She was still able to enjoy her flowers, fishing, gardening and visiting her many friends and family.
Survivors include a brother, Harold Hirsch of Cherokee Village.
She is survived by her last brother, Harold Hirsch of Cherokee Village; many nieces and nephews; one very dear friend, Dorothy Watson, and her daughter Kim, also grieve her loss.
She is preceded in death by seven brothers -- Travis, Theodore, Kenneth, Albert, Frederick, Henry and Raymond; and by her two sisters -- Clara Ruth and Grace Agnes.
She attended the Methodist Church in Ravenden and was buried at Dail Cemetery near Ravenden.
The funeral service was held on Aug. 4 at Heath Funeral Home in Hardy with arrangements under the direction of the Heath Funeral Home of Hardy, Ark.
She will be remembered for her wonderful recipes and delicious meals she fixed for family and friends.
