David Cleo Worel, 70, of Springfield, Mo., died March 6, 2005, in Mount Vernon Place Care Center in Mt. Vernon, Mo.
Born June 2, 1934, in Mammoth Spring, Ark., he was the son of Robert A. and Elsie P. Shepard Worel.
He was united in marriage on April 25, 1964, in Chicago to Jane A. Connell. He was employed with Bodine Electric in Chicago for 34 years. After retiring in 1997, he and his wife moved to Springfield. He was employed with Kraft Foods.
Worel was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of VFW Post 7831 in Springfield. He was also a member of Solomon Masonic Lodge No 271 in Springfield, The Scottish Rite in Joplin and Abou Ben Adhem Shrine where he was active in the greeters, hospital dad's unit and Greene County Shrine Club. He was also a life member of Medinah Shrine in Chicago; Al Aska Shrine in Anchorage; a member of Elk's Lodge No 409 in Springfield and Elk's Lodge No 2791 in Harrison, Ark. He en- joyed hunting and being outdoors.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Jane; a son, David Worel and his wife, Kathy of Fairbanks, Alaska; a sister, Virginia E. Wood, and her husband, Edward of Springfield; a brother, Robert E. Worel and his wife, Marie of Harrisonville, Mo., and six grandchildren.
Funeral and Masonic services were March 9 in J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home located west of Rogersville, Mo.
Graveside services, with military honors were held March 10 at the Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, Mo., with arrangements under the direction of J.D. Lee Sons, Inc., of Rogersville, Mo.
