Danny Guy Jenkins, 58, of Calico Rock, son of the late Guy Wayman and Eva Agnes George Jenkins, was born Jan. 29, 1946, in Calico Rock. He died May 31, 2004, in Calico Rock.
He married Janie Ducker on Aug. 3, 1975, at the Pineville Church in Pineville, Ark., and to this union two children were born.
During his working years he and his brother, Terry, owned and operated Jenkins Fishing Service and Motel since 1973. He graduated from Calico Rock High School in 1964.
After his graduation he went on to ASU-Beebe where he was an organizing member of the Theater Workshop and a charter member of Delta Psi Omega Dramatic Fraternity. He then attended ASU-Jonesboro. He joined the Arkansas National Guard in 1969, and was a member for eight years.
He was also a member of Acacia Lodge 625, the Calico Rock Airport Commission and White River Outfitters.
He confessed his belief in Jesus Christ at a young age in the United Methodist Church at Calico Rock, where he attended.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Jenkins of the home; a son, Matthew Guy Jenkins, who is a member of the U.S. Navy in Kings Bay, Ga.; a daughter and son-in-law -- Amanda Jane and Clint Lucy of Waldron, Ark.; a brother, Terry Jenkins of Calico Rock; and two sisters -- Royce Owens of Violet Hill, Ark., and Boni Raley of Drexel, Kans.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral was June 4, at Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Paul Dubose officiating. Burial was at Pineville Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Calico Rock.
Pallbearers were David Smithson, Tim Owens, Eric Jenkins, Clint Lucy, Matthew Jenkins, Carl Wooten and John William Dixon III.
Honorary pallbearers were John Dixon, Ronnie Hall and Chris Wooten.
