"Duce" Lee Warden

Thomas "Duce" Lee Warden, 65, of Wiseman, Ark., was born May 6, 1939, in Day, Ark., the son of James Olen and Argie Vira Couch Warden. He died May 29, 2004, at Wiseman.

He spent his working years as a father, grandfather and a heavy equipment operator; He was self-employed for many years and then later worked for the Izard County Road Department. He attended church at Oxford Church of Christ and was a member of the New Franklin Masonic Lodge 350.

Survivors include a son, Ken Warden and wife, Marti, of Salem, Ark.; a daughter, Denia Horton and husband, Stacy, of Ash Flat, Ark.; a brother, Kenneth "Dock" Warden of Brockwell, Ark.; three sisters -- Geneva Moser of Edwardsville, Ill., Estella Lewis of Glen Carbon, Ill., and Charlotte Branscum of Collinsville, Okla.; and four grandchildren -- Rachel Ann Horton, Jake Horton, Shelby Warden and Sarah Warden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Kaleb Horton; a brother, Tillman "Dutch" Warden; and two sisters -- Devene Blevins and Eudine Deal.

The funeral was June 1 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Virgil Ferrell, Jim Kyle and Dwayne Warden officiating. Burial was in Wiseman Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem.

Pallbearers were Wayne Nunnery, David Nunnery, Rocky Warden, Steve Warden, Mike Warden and Byron Price.

Honorary pallbearers were Gerald "Doc" Taylor, Paul Weaver, James Smith, Bill Blevins, Don Whited and Doug Sipe.

Memorials preferred to Wiseman Cemetery Association or to the Oxford Church of Christ.
