COUCH -- The Couch School Board were reminded of several upcoming events at their Dec. 7 school board meeting, including a full special education review the school began undergoing Dec. 13.
The Missouri School Improvement Program Review was to get under way at the school Dec. 14 and the school was to learn if it received A+ designation on Dec. 15.
The board voted to approve the 2004 Special Education Annual Report and also voted to reinstate the attendance incentive exempting perfect attendance students from taking semester finals.
Couch school officials recently attended a Reading First meeting in Poplar Bluff, and the board was informed that Couch Elementary School will be eligible to receive funds for the 2005-06 school year through the Reading First Grant.
Couch School Superintendent Rolla Fraley informed the board that due to the mild weather, LP fuel usage is less than expected at the school.
The board members voted to add Shelly LeAnnal's name to the substitute bus driver list at the school and to extend Nancy Taylor's employment as cook until the March 2005 school board meeting.
