Faye Louise Werft, 89, died Dec. 9, 2004, at Rosewood Care Cener in Alton. Born July 30, 1915, in Princeton, W.Va., she was the daughter of Charles W. and Josephine R. bonham Turner. She married Chester C. Werft June 8, 1945, and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1997.

A homemaker, she was faithful to the Community Christian Church in Alton. A minister's wife, she and her husband served with independent Christian churches in Indiana, Illinois and Iowa.

She and her husband retired to Arkansas in the late 1970s.

Survivors include a son, Richard L. Werft of Des Moines, Iowa; a daugher, Alice J. Bunk of Alton; four grandchildren -- Matt Brunk and his wife, Jennifer, of Liberty, Mo., Jason Brunk and his wife, Wendy, of Cambridge, Iowa, Andrea Werft and Stacy Werft, both of Denver, Colo.; three great-grandchildren -- Anne Marie Brunk, Emily Brunk and Autumn Brunk; and a sister, Marjorie Whitt of Charleston Heights, S.C.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Barbara Jean Werft, a sister, Lotus Brown; and a brother, Kenneth Turner.

A memorial service was held Dec. 11 at C ommunity Christian Church in Alton. Tom Carter officiated. Inurnment was in Salem, Ark. Elias - Smith Funeral Homes and Crematory of Alton, were in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to community Christian church in Alton or to the activity department at Rosewood Care Center in Alton, Mo.
