Leona Jackson Duke, the daughter of Velma Frisbee Jackson and the late Charlie Jackson, was born Aug. 14, 1953, at Mammoth Spring, Ark. and died in her home Aug. 6, 2005 at the age of 51.
She was baptized at an early age at the Mammoth Spring First Baptist Church. She married Wayde Duke and they celebrated 16 years of marriage.
She is survived by her husband Wayde Duke of the home in Mammoth Spring; her mother Velma Jackson of Mammoth Spring; one daughter, Jennifer Palmer of Mammoth Spring, Ark.; one brother, Jimmy Jackson of Oxford, Ark.; four sisters -- Janice Pratt of Batesville, Ark., Irene Franks of Mammoth Spring, Verona Imboden of Oxford, and Brenda Phenix of Couch, Mo.; 2 grandchildren -- Jamie McCracken and Christian Palmer; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
Her father Charlie Jackson, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Aug. 8 in the Carr-Montgomery Chapel with Bro. J. R. Wyles officiating. Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery in Mammoth Spring with arrangements under the direction of the Carr-Montgomery Funeral Home of Thayer.
