THAYER -- A benefit for an Alton woman will be held at 7 p.m. May 29 at the Oregon County Country Music Theater in Thayer. The public is invited to attend.
Tina Hatten, wife of Oregon County Economic Developer Edd Hatten, was diagnosed with cancer Feb. 2.
She had surgery at Cox South in Springfield and is receiving chemotherapy and radiation in West Plains at Ozarks Medical Center.
She is halfway through her chemotherapy treatment plan and will have six weeks of radiation therapy.
All tests that were run on her after surgery showed no sign of any cancer cells in any other part of her body.
The Hattens have two children, Lauren and Zane, who attend Alton School.
The family has many travel, lodging and non-covered medical expenses.
The community is invited to this celebration of life for a family who needs the financial support of their community. The Golden Road Quartet and Eugene and Mary Lou James will entertain with gospel songs. There will also be a cake and pie auction.
All proceeds will go to the Hatten family to help defray medical expenses.
