Tuesday, December 28, 2004

ALTON -- The Alton Public Library recently received a grant from the Rams Community Outreach Team. The grant has allowed the library to purchase 60 new books for the young adult and early reader collection at the library.

Several Alton Comet team members handed out book bags with gifts for the children.

The Rams Community Outreach Team supports literacy by providing funds for purchasing books and sponsoring programs for children and young adults across the state. Officials with the Alton Public Library said they were happy to accept the grant and sponsor a program highlighting a sports theme.

To view the collection, visit the Alton Public Library Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
