THAYER -- The Thayer Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the 2002 Fall Festival in downtown Thayer Sept. 28.
According to chamber officials, the event will be up and down Chestnut Street from 5 to 8 p.m. that evening and will feature live music, games, crafts, informative booths and booth space is still available. A school booth can be purchased for $5 and all other booth space at the festival can be purchased for $10. To reserve a booth call Mildred Cornelius at 264-7324.
The crowning of the Fall Festival king and queen from the elementary and high school will be at 8 p.m. This is sponsored annually by the Thayer Crescite Club. Voting for the Fall Festival candidates is currently underway. Boxes are now placed in area businesses and voting will continue through Sept. 27 at 4:30 p.m. when the boxes will be picked up.
