Relay for Life fund-raisers set

THAYER -- The Thayer City Hall Team for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life is gearing up for the third consecutive year.

Fund-raising activities will start March 15. Unique Hair Design in Thayer, owned by Rachel Harris, will donate $1 March 15-18 for every haircut given at the salon. If it is not convenient for a person to get their hair cut during this time period a certificate will be given and the haircut will be given a different day, with proceeds still going to the American Cancer Society. Harris can be reached at 264-3647 to schedule an appointment. Unique Hair Design is located in the Town and Country Plaza.

Also on March 15 Warm Fork Restaurant will donate a portion of their sales to the fund -raiser. The restaurant is owned by Mike and Sharon Byer.

April 1 is the date for the Third Annual Jail and Bail. This is where anyone can have someone "jailed" for $5. It will cost $25 for that person to get out of jail.

On April 15 the Warm Fork Restaurant will again donate a portion of the day's sales to the American Cancer Society.

The Thayer City Hall Relay for Life Team is planning a bowling tournament May 7 at Thayer Lanes starting at 10 a.m. It will cost $10 to enter the tournament and first place trophies will be presented. Proceeds from the tournament will go to the American Cancer Society.

Oregon County has 24 Relay for Life Teams. The Thayer team has 24 members. They have set a goal this year of $3,000. Last year the team raised $2,385 and received a bronze medal.
