COUCH SCHOOL -- Over 50 parents and teachers attended an A+ Meeting Aug. 22 in the old Couch gym. Tom Bull, High School principal, and Sharon Mathis, A+ coordinator, discussed the A+ Program requirements, student eligibility requirements and citizenship requirements with those attending.
Over 50 percent of both ninth and 10th grade students at the school were present to learn about A+. Following the presentation parents and students asked questions about various aspects of the program, took home informative materials and were encouraged to attend the next A+ Advisory Committee meeting which will be held at the Couch High School Library Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. Anyone interested is invited to attend.
Couch R-I freshmen and sophomores will begin enrolling in the Couch A+ Program in mid-September following development of an A+ Student Handbook that must first be approved by both the A+ Advisory Committee and the Couch School Board of Education. All Couch freshman and sophomores are encouraged to sign up for the A+ Program. Any questions about the program may be referred to Bull or Mathis at the Couch High School at 417-938-4212.
