Carolyn Lewis was honored with the Community Leader Award at the Salem Chamber meeting Aug. 28.

This award is an opportunity to recognize one of the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas co-op members who goes above the call of duty when it comes to volunteering or community service.

Lewis was named the community leader for serving her community, said Oliver. He added, "If you ask Carolyn to do something she will. She goes above and beyond the call of duty."

She is a retired administration office supervisor for the Fulton County Cooperative Extension Service. Lewis is actively involved in the following activities: Fulton County Fair Association, Salem Chamber of Commerce, Fulton County 4-H, Salem Homecoming Festival, Ozark Gateway Tourist Council, Fulton County Farm Family Committee, Beta Sigma Phi, and the Fulton County Extension Homemakers Club.
